Severe fire breaks out in Hulhumale' residence: Family provided temporary housing for five days
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided emergency housing and food assistance to seven individuals following a severe fire at a Hulhumalé apartment on Tuesday. While the blaze left one bedroom completely gutted and caused extensive damage to the property, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Emergency temporary housing has been provided to a family displaced by a dangerous fire that broke out in a residence in Hulhumale'.
The incident was reported on Tuesday evening around 6:00 p.m.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that a fire on Tuesday at Hulhumale' Lot-11395 resulted in extensive damage to one of the bedrooms. The authority further noted that the remaining rooms and the living area also sustained varying degrees of damage from smoke and fire.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that it has provided temporary shelter, food, and clothing for five days to seven individuals who were residing in the building.
Photographs from the scene show that the apartment's bedroom has been completely gutted by fire, leaving the room and its contents damaged beyond use.
There have been no reports of any injuries in connection with this incident.
There has been a recent surge in fire incidents occurring in Hulhumale'.
Following a fire at the fifth tower of the Hiyaa flats in Hulhumale' Phase II earlier in January, another blaze broke out late Saturday night, January 31, at a warehouse located on the ground floor of Lot 11154 in Chanbeylee Magu, Phase I. Emergency services have provided temporary shelter to 25 individuals displaced by the incident.
