STELCO defeats Da Grande

In the ongoing Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Veterans League, STELCO has won the match against Da Grande.

STELCO won the match played on Friday evening at the Maafannu Turf Ground with a score of 4 – 2.

The first half of the match ended in a 1 – 1 draw. However, STELCO scored three goals in the second half to win the match.

Da Grande took the lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Abdulla Hafeez. Later, in the 28th minute, Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed Adam equalized for STELCO.

STELCO took the lead for the first time in the match when Mohamed Waheed scored in the 42nd minute. Then, Izzath Abdul Baree scored the team's third goal in the 53rd minute.

Four minutes later, Baree scored STELCO's fourth goal. Da Grande's second goal was scored by Hafeez in the 59th minute.

This was STELCO's third match in the Veterans tournament. Out of the three matches played so far, they have won two and lost one.

This year's Veterans League will continue until the 27th of this month. A total of 10 teams are participating in this year's tournament.

The tournament is being conducted by dividing teams into two groups. Group A consists of Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC), Villimalé United, Hulhumalé Veterans Club, Zelot, and Hurriyya. Group B includes Police Club, STELCO, Club Eagles, Muiveyo, and Da Grande.
