No one received serious injuries in the gas cylinder explosion inside a restaurant in Malé City, says the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
The police institution cited ADK Hospital having revealed that three individuals sought treatment for injuries attained in the blast, however, no one was critically injured.
MPS revealed that they received reports of the gas cylinder explosion inside NGB, a fast-food restaurant located at Kinbigas Magu in Henveiru-ward of the capital city at around 5pm on Wednesday.
Injured in the explosion were two Maldivian women and a male expatriate, according to the authorities.
The expatriate was the chef at NGB and the two women were standing outside on the street when the gas cylinder exploded.
Authorities revealed that the two women were injured by the pieces of broken glass that scattered when the window pane shattered due to the blast.
ADK Hospital had informed MPS that no one was seriously injured in the blast.
They were discharged after being treated at the hospital.
The police institution is conducting further investigations in connection with the case.
