IGMH halts non-critical surgeries temporarily
Hospital running a 24-hour flu clinic
Emergency surgeries will be carried out

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced that non-critical surgeries will be temporarily halted from Monday onward.

The hospital assures that all emergency surgeries and ICU cases will be carried out as normal.

The hospital is currently operating a flu clinic in Thajuddin School, open 24 hours, to provide medical care in response to the H1N1 outbreak in the Maldives. IGMH has appealed to seek treatment immediately if suspected of having contracted the virus.

Two have already succumbed to the virus, with an additional nine tested positive for the strain.
