Trans Maldivian Airways aircraft 8Q-TMV crashed while it was landing at Water Aerodrome and Velana International Airport
All nine passengers and three crew members did not sustain any injuries

Maldives Civil Aviation Authority has said that Trans Maldivian Airways aircraft 8Q-TMV crashed while it was landing at Water Aerodrome and Velana International Airport.

The accident occurred on Saturday morning, at around 8:34 am local time.

According to the Aminath Nuzula, Senior Administrative Officer at Maldives Civil Aviation Authority the aircraft had sustained severe damages in the accident, sinking into the water aerodrome area.

She said that none of the passengers or crew members had sustained any injuries in the accident, adding that they were taken to Sea Rescue Operation Station by MACL Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Department.

All nine passengers and three crew members were then taken to Hulhumale Hospital for further examination, and has since been released.

Trans Maldivian Airways aircraft 8Q-TMV crashed into the water as it was landing at the Water Aerodrome at Velana International Airport on Saturday morning. The aircraft was travelling from Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

Maldives Civil Aviation Authority said that it, along with the Accident Investigation Co-ordination Committee are currently investigating the accident.
