A 36-year-old man sustained injuries after being attacked by a sharp weapon as two incidences of armed assault took place in the capital on Sunday night.
A media official for the Maldives Police Service (MPS) confirmed they had received a report that a man had been injured using a sharp weapon in Asaree Hingun of Male' City at around 9:15 on Sunday night.
According to the Police, a 36-year-old man was injured in the incident and was immediately taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment,
In addition to this, Police also revealed that a fight had broken out near King Salman Mosque in Male' at around 7:35pm on Sunday.
The police media official revealed that both cases are currently under investigation, however, it has not been confirmed whether the two attacks are linked to each other.
