Two patients succumbed to H1N1: HPA
The HPA had on Monday said that a 26-year-old, who was initially treated for complications of the kidney, had died from the flu.
A 51-year-old woman from Eydhafushi island in Baa atoll died on Wednesday night.
HPA's most recent count revealed 105 patients who have contracted H1N1.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has on Thursday revealed that two patients have died from H1N1, confirming reports of 51-year-old’s death on Wednesday.

The HPA had on Monday said that a 26-year-old, who was initially treated for complications of the kidney, had died from the flu; this was immediately after it announced the outbreak and insisted that this outbreak was nothing like the 2009 ‘swine flu’ pandemic.

The 51-year-old, who died Wednesday night, is a woman from Eydhafushi island in Baa atoll.

Both patients had been treated at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

While the total count of patients with H1N1 had reportedly been just 27 on Monday, this figure has grown to 105 in just four days.
