Officers have yet to make an arrest in a case where an elderly man had been grievously injured after a chemical was reportedly thrown in his face.

RaajjeMV understands that 71-year-old Ibrahim Mohamed from Dhuvaafaru island of Raa Atoll, had sustained severe burns to his face and could not open eyes.

After Tuesday’s assault, Mohamed was treated at the island’s health center and then brought to Malé City for further treatment.

It is clear that Mohamed was subject to chemical burns, but the Police have yet to reveal which chemical was used, specifically.
