Haroon Rasheed has been appointed the managing director of Agro National Corporation.

Rasheed is a former president of the Gaafu Alif atoll council.

While the Gaa Alif Villingilli native was appointed two weeks ago, they are currently working on recruiting individuals to the company.

Until then, employees from gender ministry and the Road Development Corporation are working with the company on a temporary basis.

Agro National Corporation is a state-owned company established to help farmers to sell their products at a good price to the government. The company is to also ensure a certain income to the farmers and to encourage more people to invest in the agriculture sector.

The company recently began purchasing products of local farmers.
