Gahdhoo MP wife appointed as Deputy Minister
Three Deputy Ministers to Education Ministry

Gahdhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Rasheed’s wife has been appointed as Deputy Minister at Education Ministry.
The MP’s wife, Aishath Hushama was appointed as Deputy Minister on Monday.
With her appointment, Education Ministry now has three deputies at the Ministry, with an additional seven serving as Senior Policy Executives.Senior Policy Executives are at the same level as Deputy Ministers.
MP Rasheed is an MP from ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM).
The move comes ahead of a no-confidence motion on the Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh. MP Faris Maumoon had warned that MPs will be either bribed or intimidated prior to the vote. He previously said that they have enough votes to push through the motion. The MP was summoned to ACC on Tuesday morning.
