An additional Bangladeshi national has tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The Health Protections Agency (HPA) announced this via Twitter early Saturday morning.
This is the 69th foreigner to test positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives, including the cases confirmed from tourist establishments back in March.
A number of expatriate workers in the country are at risk of being infected, given that they are made to reside in small, unhygienic and congested spaces, particularly in capital Malé City.
As such, authorities have identified such vulnerable areas through a community survey and they are being monitored as a measure to control the spread of the disease.
