First lady calls for "more" involvement in community service
The First Lady made the statement while delivering a speech at the launching ceremony of the ‘Furaatha’ campaign on Sunday.
The first lady's speech focused on the individual civic responsibility to make contributions for the common good of society.
The ‘Furaatha’ campaign is a movement centred around promoting community service and is led the Maldives National University (MNU).

More civilian involvement is needed in community service projects as all acts of community service ultimately benefit the individual, says First Lady Fazna Ahmed.

Fazna made the statement while delivering a speech at the launching ceremony of the ‘Furaatha’ campaign on Sunday.

The first lady's speech focused on the individual civic responsibility to make contributions for the common good of society.

The First Lady explained that a progressive society plays a huge role in individual successes, therefore it is important to fulfil our civic duties so everyone can enjoy such success.

As such, it is the obligation of every citizen to make efforts in building a stronger community with positive social values such as empathy and kindness and engage in more community service projects, said the first lady, as it creates compassionate role models for future generations.

The ‘Furaatha’ campaign is a movement centred around promoting community service and is led the Maldives National University (MNU). The campaign will feature a series of activities to advocate for more engagement in community service.
