UK HC First Secretary meets MUO

UK High Commission’s First Secretary Mr. Daniel Painter has met senior officials of Maldives United Opposition (MUO).

The meeting was held Thursday in the head office premises of MUO partner Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Speaking to RaajjeTV MUO Deputy Leader Shifa Mohamed said the discussions centered on the current political status of the country. Shifa said MOU had shared their grave concerns regarding the undue influence exerted by the Government on the upcoming Local Council Elections, especially by the use of independent institutions especially Elections Commission.

Shifa further said MUO will reach out to concerned international parties and will share these information and concerns. She added that MUO will seek to promote a free and fair elections.
