Magistrate Azeem Hassan suspended
JSC decided to suspend him at meeting on Wednesday, over a disciplinary issue
He is directly involved, and benefits from a transportation business
Azeem has been suspended for a one-month period without pay

Magistrate at Villingilli island of Gaafu Alifu atoll, Azeem Hassan, has been suspended.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) decided to suspended him at a meeting a meeting on Wednesday, over misconduct.

As such, the commission noted that an investigation showed that Azeem is directly involved in a sea transportation business.

JSC added that this is a clear violation of the Judges’ Act, and against their disciplinary standards.

Hence, the magistrate has been suspended for a one-month period without pay.

While JSC had previously investigated another complaint against Azeem, it was unproven.
