The crew members of ‘Kurimagu 1’ boat have reenacted the murder of their fellow worker.
Luthufaru went missing in Shaviyani Lhaimagu in April, with the boat captain saying that they found out he was missing when they were preparing to undock. Some of the crew members had informed that he was seen quarreling with some of the crewmen on the night of his disappearance.
On May 6, police’s diving team that was searching for Luthufaru recovered his “body parts” from the reef outside the island’s harbour. Four of his crew members were arrested in relation to the case.
While police have not revealed any information regarding the reenactment, residents of Lhaimagu are to have witnessed the reenactment that took place on Friday; using two sandbags tied togather, as Luthufaru.
One of them said that three of his crew members had actively participated in the killing that took place on the boat.
While the boat’s crew members have to move the boat from the dock every night, the suspects are to have struck him on the ribs when he boarded the boat on the night of his disappearance. They then strangled him.
Afterwards, during the enactment, they are to have sat on the front end of the boat, possibly discussing on a way to get rid of Luthufaru’s body.
“They then took of his t-shirt, and tied a sandbag to his chest. They then tied up a sandbag to his knees, after which they tied a yellow container to him,” he said, adding that the suspects then threw his body off the boat, at the opposite side of the harbour.
It was previously believed that Luthufaru was killed in the island’s woodland, after the police found his t-shirt and a container there.
