Hulhudhuffaaru sets up donation box to supplement RaajjeTV's 'Aburufulhu' fund

Raajje Television’s viewers in Hulhudhuffaaru of Raa Atoll have set up a donation box to supplement the station’s fund-raising drive.
Mohamed Ibrahim, the deputy chair of Hulhudhuffaaru’s local government council, said that the donation box is placed at the headquarters of the Maldivian Democratic Party branch in the island.
Donators had begun contributing on Thursday night and can contribute on Friday and Saturday as well. Mohamed Ibrahim said that their fund-raising efforts have received tremendous support as well.
Residents in other islands have also set up similar donations boxes to supplement Raajje Television’s efforts after the Maldives Broadcasting Commission slapped a MVR 500,000 fine on the station last week.
