Elections Commission (EC) has announced that it will be conducting recounts on 24 ballot boxes, after noticing discrepancies in the result sheets.

According to the Commission, it made the decision to recount 24 boxes after noticing discrepancies in the figures on the result sheets.

The Commission stressed that this is only for verification purposes, as the result sheets were rejected by the system. The result sheets are automated.

While the Local Council Elections were held on May 6, EC is yet to announce the results. However, interim results, conducted separately by RaajjeTV- show the opposition to be leading with over 300 of the 664 seats.
