Parliament sets Speaker vote for July 24th, accepts MP Rasheed's signature

Parliament Secretariat has scheduled the vote of no confidence on Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh for the 24th of this month.

Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh and senior figures have been notified of the decision.

The no confidence motion was first submitted to the Parliament last Monday. MPs from all Parties, except for Government coalition partner MDA, had endorsed the motion, including 10 MPs from the ruling PPM.

The 10 MPs are:

• Isdhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Rasheed
• Dhihdhoo Constituency MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed
• Mahchangolhi South Constituency MP Abdullah Sinan
• Dhangethi Constituency MP Ilham Ahmed
• Ihavandhoo Constituency MP Mohamed Abdullah
• Thinadhoo Constituency MP Saudhullah Hilmy
• Fuvahmulah North Constituency MP Ali Shah
• Thinadhoo South Constituency MP Abdullah Ahmed
• Hanimaadhoo Constituency MP Hussain Shahudhee
• Mahibadhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Thoriq
