Yameen to Muizzu: Investigate the "noble royal thieves" in your circle before speaking of justice!

Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has called on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to investigate the "noble royal thieves" within his inner circle who have allegedly embezzled large sums of money, and to complete the investigation into the MMPRC scandal before speaking about justice.

Speaking at a rally held Sunday night at the People’s National Front (PNF) headquarters, former President Abdulla Yameen asserted that President Muizzu should stop portraying himself as a man of justice, claiming that the President does not embody those values. Yameen further questioned that if President Muizzu were truly committed to justice, he would be investigating the allegations of corruption involving those currently serving in his inner circle.

If you are truly as just as you claim, then investigate the corruption cases involving the thieves surrounding President Muizzu. Was it not Muizzu himself who stated he had the courage to investigate the MMPRC scandal? Go ahead and investigate that case. That is what true justice looks like. That is the people's money.

President Yameen further stated that the definition of justice does not rest on whether or not a political figure is imprisoned. He noted that true tyranny is when the government or a specific group inflicts widespread epidemics or famine upon the entire community. He therefore urged that if there is a genuine desire for justice, the authorities should first recover the public's lost funds and investigate the major "thieves" within their own inner circle before speaking of fairness.
