Dr. Mohamed Ali, the former Controller of Immigration and former Chief of Staff at the President’s Office, passed away on Sunday.
Dr. Mohamed Ali, who dedicated over 25 years of distinguished service to the state, has passed away at the age of 67 while undergoing treatment at IGM Hospital.
Dr. Mohamed Ali served as the Chief of Staff at the President's Office and subsequently as the Controller of Immigration during the administration of former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik. Additionally, he held the position of Minister of State for Islamic Affairs during the presidency of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Dr. Mohamed Ali, who holds a PhD in environmental science, has rendered distinguished service to both the Ministry of Home Affairs and the former Ministry of Planning during his tenure overseeing environmental initiatives within those departments.
