President Muizzu believes entire nation is his personal property; there has never been an administration where people have been so subjugated and disenfranchised: Dr. Jameel

Jameel further alleged that the current administration is infringing upon the dignity of the people and attempting to subjugate them, though he noted that the public has become increasingly vigilant against such tactics.

Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has asserted that the Maldives is not the personal property of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and his party, despite what they may believe.
Speaking on a RaajjeTV talk show, Dr. Jameel remarked that the government's aggressive efforts to boost PNC membership make it seem as though they are competing in a race. He further suggested that the administration appears to be forcibly recruiting members under the impression that the right to govern is reserved only for the party with the largest membership.
As a third point, Dr. Jameel highlighted the financial incentives associated with increasing party membership. He suggested that the drive to recruit more members may be motivated by the larger state funding allocations granted to parties based on their membership size. However, he asserted that the current administration is achieving this through intimidation. Dr. Jameel further stated that the government has marginalized the nation and left its citizens in a state of vulnerability.
I do not believe any leader or any political party has ever marginalized the Maldivian people to this extent. The greatest injustice you can inflict upon a human being is to strip them of their self-respect and dignity. We all live our lives believing that we have the autonomy to make our own decisions and that we possess fundamental freedoms. It is this belief in our own liberty that allows us to function. However, the reality today is that if you want a job, you are told you must sign up for the PNC. The Maldivian people have been enslaved to this degree. These workers are human beings too. They do not believe for a second that their employment is a personal gift from President Muizzu or the PNC. Yet, it now feels as though the entire country belongs to Muizzu, as if he is the sole owner of everything.Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed
Dr. Jameel further stated that the current administration is attempting to convince the public that employment opportunities and all other basic services are granted solely through the benevolence of President Muizzu and his government. However, he asserted that the public is well aware of how this administration and President Muizzu are subjugating and impoverishing the people, adding that the citizens can no longer be deceived.
Dr. Jameel further stated that the public is more discerning than the government realizes, and that the administration will soon come to understand the reality of the situation.
