A 55-year-old male tourist from Kazakhstan has died while diving in Fuvahmulah City after being pulled from the water unconscious and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

A 55-year-old tourist has died after going diving in Fuvahmulah City.

Police reported on Thursday that they received a report at approximately 9:18 a.m. on September 17, 2026, regarding a tourist who was found unresponsive underwater while diving in Fuvahmulah. The individual was subsequently recovered and transported to Fuvahmulah Hospital.

Police stated that the hospital confirmed the individual was already deceased upon arrival.

The deceased has been identified as a 55-year-old male national of Kazakhstan.

The police are currently investigating the matter.
