President Solih arrives in Fuvahmulah City
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, accompanied by a high-level MDP delegation, has arrived in Fuvahmulah City to campaign for Mikaeel Ahmed Naseem in the party’s upcoming internal chairperson election. As part of the "Ithubaaru" (Trust) campaign, a special rally is scheduled to be held in the city ahead of Friday’s election, where Mikaeel will face off against former President Mohamed Nasheed for the leadership post.

Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived in Fuvahmulah City.
President Solih arrived in Fuvahmulah City on Friday afternoon. Upon his arrival, he was greeted with a warm welcome at Fuvahmulah Airport by a large number of the city's residents.
President Solih is accompanied on this trip by several senior officials from the MDP. The delegation includes Ibrahim Nazil, the leader of the MDP Parliamentary Group, as well as Meekail Ahmed Naseem, the Member of Parliament for the South Galolhu constituency.
President Solih is visiting Fuvahmulah City to drum up support for Mickail Ahmed Naseem, who is contesting for the position of Chairperson in the upcoming Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) internal elections. As part of this campaign tour, the "Ithubaaru" (Trust) campaign team is scheduled to hold a major rally in Fuvahmulah City.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed will compete against Meekail in the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) chairperson election, scheduled for June 12, 2026. As the election gains momentum, senior party officials are traveling to various islands to conduct campaign activities.
