Maldives, Malaysia Sign MoUs on Islamic Affairs and Defense

The Maldives and Malaysia have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
The Maldives and Malaysia signed two Memorandums of Understanding on Tuesday morning to strengthen cooperation in the fields of defense and Islamic affairs, during a special ceremony held at the President's Office.
The ceremony was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, alongside senior government officials from both nations.
In this regard, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide assistance in Islamic affairs was signed on behalf of the Maldives by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. The Malaysian government was represented by the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Johari Abdul Ghani.
While the Maldivian Minister of Defence signed the Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation on behalf of the Maldives, the Malaysian government was represented by Investment Minister Johari Abdul Ghani.
