Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in the Maldives on a state visit

At the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived in the Maldives on Monday evening for an official state visit.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was received by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu upon his arrival at Velana International Airport. An official welcoming ceremony in honor of the Malaysian Prime Minister is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
During this visit, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will hold official talks with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to further strengthen bilateral relations. The two leaders are scheduled to witness the signing and exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). Following their discussions, both leaders will issue a joint press statement to brief the media on the outcomes of their high-level talks.
This marks the Malaysian Prime Minister's first official visit to the Maldives since assuming office in November 2022.
