Child injured in Hulhumalé Phase II accident in critical condition, placed on ventilator

The incident occurred on Hithigas Magu when a motorcycle struck a person attempting to enter a car, and police are currently conducting a further investigation into the matter.

A young child injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian in Hulhumalé Phase II has been transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in critical condition and placed on ventilator support.
Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has stated that the child injured in the accident on Saturday night is currently on ventilator support and remains in critical condition.
The child injured in the accident near Vinares Tower 7 on Hithigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase II was initially rushed to Hulhumalé Hospital for treatment.
Police stated that based on a review of CCTV footage from the area, the accident occurred when a motorcycle traveling along Hithigas Magu struck a pedestrian who was walking on the roadside to enter a car parked near Vinares 7.
The victims of the accident have been identified as an 18-year-old Maldivian woman who was operating the motorcycle and a nine-year-old Maldivian girl who was riding as a passenger.
Police are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
