A collision occurred between a motorcycle and a car in Hulhumalé Phase II.
Police informed the media that a report was received at approximately 21:04 on the night of August 29, 2026, regarding an accident near Vinares Tower 7 on Hithigas Magu.
According to the police, a review of CCTV footage from the area reveals that the accident occurred when a motorcycle traveling along Hithigas Magu struck a pedestrian. The individual was walking on the roadside, attempting to enter a car parked near Vinares Tower 7, when the collision took place.
The victims of the accident have been identified as an 18-year-old Maldivian woman who was operating the motorcycle and a nine-year-old Maldivian girl who was riding as a passenger. Both individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital. According to the police, hospital authorities have reported that the nine-year-old girl remains in serious condition.
Police are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
