Two young men, aged 19 and 22, sustained serious injuries after a speeding motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car near the intersection of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Hithigas Magu. Both victims are currently receiving treatment at IGMH, while the police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Two people have sustained serious injuries in an accident on Boduthakurufaanu Magu after a speeding motorcycle collided with a car.
Police stated that an accident involving a car and a motorcycle near the junction of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Hithigas Magu in Malé was reported at approximately 14:16 on April 7, 2026.
The accident occurred when a speeding motorcycle rear-ended a car.
Both individuals on the motorcycle involved in the accident sustained various injuries and are currently receiving treatment at IGM Hospital. Reports indicate that a 22-year-old Maldivian man suffered serious injuries in the crash. The 19-year-old Maldivian man who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle also sustained serious injuries during the incident.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
