Muizzu Staging Political Theatre in the Name of Public Meetings: Azim
Malé City Mayor Adam Azim has criticized the government's initiative to open registrations for citizens to meet with the President, labeling it a "theatrical stunt" designed to humiliate the public and force them to beg for assistance. The Mayor asserted that the administration should already be well-aware of the people's hardships, dismissing these organized meetings as insincere political drama.

Malé City Mayor Adam Azim has strongly criticized the government following the President's Office's announcement inviting citizens to register for meetings with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Azim stated that he has been seeking a meeting with the President for nearly three years, yet has not been granted the opportunity to this day.
Mayor Azim stated that he seeks a meeting with the President to share the numerous concerns and challenges facing the residents of Malé.
Azim noted that having met with many residents of Malé over the years, he is intimately familiar with the dire circumstances they face. He questioned whether the government remains unaware of the people's plight and challenged the purpose of opening registrations to meet with citizens, asking what exactly the administration still needs to clarify.
Criticizing government policies, Azim stated that the current administration is causing the public to suffer further with each passing day. He characterized the ongoing initiatives, purportedly organized for citizens to meet the President, as an act intended to force the people to plead and further marginalize them.
Furthermore, Azim called on President Muizzu to stop performing "circuses" and "dramas" in front of the public.
This government does nothing but inflict hardship upon the citizens day after day. Even now, under the guise of meeting the President, the public is being forced to beg and endure humiliation. There is no need to perform these antics in front of the people. This is the President of the Republic—not someone who should be staging dramas or spectacles. He simply wants to stand before the people and have them weep in his presence; it is truly pathetic.Malé City Mayor Adam Azim
Azim further stated that President Muizzu has significantly failed to address the concerns of the citizens. He added that while the administration is well aware of the people's true situation, holding such meetings is a disingenuous act lacking any real sincerity.
