President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed for Qatar to offer his condolences to the Qatari royal family following the passing of the former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed on an official visit to Qatar.

The President's Office stated that this visit is being undertaken to convey condolences on behalf of the Maldivian people and the President himself to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the royal family, and the people of Qatar, following the passing of the former Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Representatives from numerous countries are scheduled to travel to Qatar to participate in the official mourning ceremonies following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
