Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed has stated that the true success of the police is not measured by the ranks on their shoulders or the medals they receive, but rather by their ability to serve as a source of peace and security for the public.
Speaking at the passing out parade for the 42nd Police Initial Training Course, the Commissioner of Police stated that the techniques and skills acquired during the grueling days of training—through the scorching sun and cold nights—must become the "national lifeblood" flowing through every officer. He further emphasized that true success for a police officer is not measured by the ranks on their shoulders or the medals they earn, but rather by the joyful smiles on the faces of citizens when they are kept safe from the threat of crime.
Highlighting that every drop of sweat shed on the training grounds marks the beginning of the sacrifices required to ensure public safety and peace of mind, CP Mohamed stated that the blue uniform is more than just a garment. He emphasized that it represents the very image of safety and security that citizens look toward amidst the fears and uncertainties of the streets.
The CP stated that serving the public entails more than just law enforcement. He emphasized that as officers represent the face of the entire institution, the police must serve as a source of reassurance and peace of mind for the community.
Furthermore, the CP emphasized that upholding the honor and integrity of the Maldives Police Service is a duty incumbent upon every officer. He urged them to remain ever mindful that Allah (SWT) is all-knowing and observes both their intentions and actions.
The Commissioner of Police has called upon the leadership and staff of the Police College to elevate basic training standards to a modern, world-class level. His primary request was for these contemporary reforms to be practically implemented starting with the upcoming 43rd Police Initial Training Course. The CP further urged the college to prioritize the development of high-caliber, exemplary officers through the newly established curriculum, ensuring they are well-prepared for field operations.
