Two female police officers fined MVR 5,400 after being found guilty of engaging in illicit sexual relations
Two female police officers of constable rank are being dismissed from the Maldives Police Service after the Criminal Court found them guilty of engaging in illicit sexual relations. Following the court's verdict, which imposed a fine of MVR 5,400 on each individual, the police administration confirmed that it is currently completing the necessary administrative procedures to formalize their termination.

Two female police officers have been dismissed from their posts after being found guilty of engaging in illicit sexual relations.
Regarding the matter, the police informed RaajjeMV that two employees of the Maldives Police Service were convicted of engaging in illicit sexual relations. The Criminal Court delivered the sentencing on March 3, 2024.
According to reports, both individuals have been fined MVR 5,400 each following their conviction for the charges.
Furthermore, the police stated that following the court's verdict, a decision has been made to dismiss the two employees. The police added that they are currently in the process of completing the necessary administrative procedures regarding the matter.
RaajjeMV has learned that the two individuals convicted of the crime are police officers holding the rank of constable.
