Two foreigners arrested in Hulhumale on suspicion of possessing and trafficking alcohol, remanded
Police Intelligence and officers from Hulhumalé Phase 1 have arrested two Bangladeshi nationals suspected of operating a large-scale illegal liquor trade in the city. During a targeted raid on the suspects' residence, authorities seized 15 bottles of alcohol, and the court has since remanded both individuals into custody pending further investigation.

Police have taken two Bangladeshi men into custody in Hulhumalé on suspicion of possessing, consuming, and trafficking alcohol.
The individuals arrested in connection with this case have been identified as Al Numan, 31, and Rakibul Hassan Papun, 20, both Bangladeshi nationals.
According to the police, the two individuals were apprehended during a special operation conducted following intelligence reports of a large-scale illicit liquor trade being carried out in Hulhumale'.
This operation was an initiative launched by the Hulhumalé Phase 1 Police on June 26.
Police reported that 15 bottles of alcohol were discovered during a search of the apartment where the two individuals resided. The items have since been taken into police custody.
When the two suspects arrested in connection with this case were brought before the court for a remand hearing, the court ordered them to remain in custody. Al Nooman was remanded for an additional five days, while Rakibul Hassan Papun was granted a 10-day remand period.
The police are conducting a further investigation into the matter.
The Maldives Police Service is conducting a series of coordinated operations across the Greater Male' region and the atolls to crack down on individuals involved in the trafficking and sale of narcotics and alcohol.
