Former Member of Parliament for the Hulhumalé constituency, Ali Niyaz, has stated that the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is the only political entity in the Maldives that functions as a structured institution governed by robust principles.
He made these remarks while speaking at the flag-hoisting ceremony held to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the MDP.
Ali Niyaz stated that as the MDP marks its 21st anniversary, its most significant achievement is its endurance as an institution governed by established principles. He noted that this is a milestone no other political party in the Maldives has managed to achieve to date.
Niyaz further noted that in developed nations, observing how political parties are managed and how governance is conducted reveals that genuine opportunities are afforded to such well-organized parties.
Reflecting on the history of the MDP, Niyaz stated that the party has always been a highly organized political entity. He noted that the MDP has consistently demonstrated its resilience and capability to return to power through renewed determination following every electoral defeat.
Furthermore, he expressed high confidence that the MDP would secure victory in the upcoming presidential election.
Niyaz further stated that public confidence in the MDP continues to grow because the party formulates and implements policies that are most beneficial and effective for the people. He described the MDP as the only party dedicated to serving the public with sincere intentions.
