A motorcyclist loses control, strikes pedestrian crossing the road in Hulhumalé
A Maldivian man is receiving treatment at IGMH following a serious accident in Hulhumalé Phase II, where a speeding motorcycle lost control and struck him while he was using a zebra crossing. A serious accident occurred in Hulhumalé Phase 2 when a speeding motorcycle lost control and skidded into a pedestrian crossing the road at a zebra cross.
The victim of the incident is currently receiving treatment at IGM Hospital.
According to the police, the accident was reported to the authorities at approximately 9:26 p.m. on Sunday night. The incident occurred on Hithigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase II when a motorcycle traveling from north to south lost control and skidded, striking a pedestrian who was using the zebra crossing at the time.
The victim of the accident has been identified as a Maldivian male. After receiving initial first aid, he was transported to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé for further medical attention. According to the police, the man sustained various injuries and is currently admitted to a hospital ward for ongoing treatment.
Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has confirmed that the individual was brought to the facility and is currently receiving medical treatment. However, the hospital has not yet disclosed specific details regarding the extent of the injuries sustained. Police have also refrained from providing any information regarding the condition of the motorcyclist or any injuries they may have suffered in the incident.
