14yo in critical condition after electrocution in Gan; currently on ventilator support
A 14-year-old boy, who was critically injured by an electric shock while attempting to draw power from a distribution box during Eid preparations in L. Gan, is currently on ventilator support at IGMH. Following the incident, the child was medically evacuated to Male' for emergency treatment due to his deteriorating condition, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

IGMH has confirmed that the 14-year-old boy who was critically injured after being electrocuted in L. Gan is currently being treated on a ventilator.
An IGMH media official told RaajjeMV that the child is in critical condition and is currently being treated on a ventilator.
The child was medically evacuated from Gan Regional Hospital to Male’ for further treatment at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, after their condition deteriorated.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Tuesday, May 26, 2026, during preparations for the upcoming Eid festivities. The child was electrocuted while attempting to draw power for a decorative lighting string from a roadside distribution box.
Police stated that they are further investigating the matter following the receipt of the report regarding the incident.
