Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that to win a presidential election, it is essential to welcome everyone who shares a vision for the development of the Maldives.

Confidence Speaking at a campaign rally, former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that the public is now explaining the reasons behind the loss of the recent presidential election. He noted that the people are urging that if Meekail is elected, such a situation must not be allowed to recur.

President Solih stated that it was not only the MDP that was left stranded at the time, but that the entire Maldivian population had to face the repercussions of that change.

Furthermore, President Solih stated that to win a presidential election, it is essential to welcome everyone who shares a vision for the development of the Maldives. He emphasized that an election cannot be won by remaining isolated with only a small circle of supporters, noting that Mickail is a candidate capable of working inclusively with all parties.

President Solih has announced his endorsement of Meekail Ahmed Naseem for the position of party chairperson. Explaining his decision, President Solih stated that the role of chairperson must be held by an individual capable of managing the party while ensuring equal opportunities for all members. He further emphasized the need to identify new strategies to enhance the party's administrative functions and overall activities beyond their current state.

Responding to criticisms regarding his decision to govern alongside a coalition after assuming office in 2018, former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that the administration was formed under a formal, signed coalition agreement. He further noted that he was a personal signatory to that agreement.
