In his remarks, President Solih congratulated Abdulla Sodiq on his victory in the North Hithadhoo constituency by-election. The President stated that Sodiq’s success is a vital achievement, much needed by both the MDP and the nation at this time.
President Solih further stated that the public continues to reject the current administration in one election after another.
Furthermore, President Solih stated that the current members of the MDP require additional support. He noted that Sobe joining the Parliament would significantly bolster those efforts.

Provisional results for the People's Majlis by-election for the North Hithadhoo constituency show Ibrahim Nazil (Sobe) leading the race. According to the preliminary data from seven ballot boxes, the MDP candidate secured 1,375 votes, while the PNC candidate, Saeed, received 1,313 votes.
