President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for the frequent production and release of documentaries centered on his life and work.
Speaking at a PNC rally held on Thursday night, President Muizzu addressed the documentary released by Adhadhu on March 28, 2024.
President Muizzu stated that he is greatly pleased by the documentaries produced by his opponents and expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for it. He further noted that when an individual is subjected to the spread of baseless falsehoods, character assassination, and defamation, exercising patience brings manifold spiritual rewards.
President Muizzu has called for the increased production of documentaries. He further stated that a documentary produced with integrity and honesty would not result in character assassination.
I am fully aware of my actions, my lifestyle, and the words I speak. This is not something that will change simply because of what someone else says. Countless lies can be fabricated about me, and numerous documentaries can be produced. In fact, I am very pleased when such things happen. I praise Almighty Allah; Alhamdu Lillah. Our religion places great importance on exercising patience when one is subjected to baseless falsehoods, character assassination, and the defaming of one's honor. It is a highly rewarded virtue. Therefore, I am content, Alhamdu Lillah. I encourage them to produce and release even more documentaries. I am certain, however, that no one can produce a documentary based on the truth that would succeed in destroying my reputation.President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
While President Muizzu has called for the frequent production and release of documentaries, the Criminal Court issued a nationwide injunction on May 10, 2026, prohibiting any direct or indirect discussion regarding the "Aisha" documentary. Following this order, two journalists from Adhadhu, Leevan Ali Naseer and Mohamed Shahuzan, were imprisoned on May 12, 2026, after being found in violation of the court's mandate.
