President Muizzu alleges that opposition political figures attempted to dismantle his marriage

Speaking at a PNC rally, President Muizzu strongly criticized the opposition for spreading falsehoods regarding his personal family life, characterizing them as irresponsible individuals driven solely by self-interest. The President noted that the opposition has resorted to personal attacks only because they are unable to provide any substantive challenges to the government's policies.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that opposition political figures have even attempted to dismantle his marriage.

During the PNC rally held on Thursday night, President Muizzu heavily criticized opposition political parties and key political figures.

Referring to opposition political figures, President Muizzu stated that his opponents have even gone as far as attempting to dismantle his marriage.

These people are trying far too hard to drive a wedge between my wife and me. I even asked Saajee what on earth was going on. She is currently in the UK visiting our child on a trip that was planned over a month and a half ago, yet they have twisted this into a narrative that suits their own agenda. This is not how things are. Just because people are talking doesn't mean it has any basis in reality. They have already acted as if they have successfully separated us and finalized everything.

While President Muizzu has alleged that opposition political figures are attempting to dismantle his marriage, the opposition continues to demand the release of journalists detained in connection with the documentary. They contend that the nationwide gag order issued by the Criminal Court prohibiting discussion of the documentary is a direct obstruction of press freedom and freedom of expression by the government. Opposition parties and a significant portion of the public are calling for the court order to be overturned, asserting that these fundamental rights must not be infringed upon.

Despite the nightly protests in Malé regarding these issues, President Muizzu disregarded the demonstrations and asserted that the opposition lacks responsibility within the democratic framework. He further claimed that they act recklessly without regard for the nation or religion. The President also characterized the opposition as a group that prioritizes personal gain whenever the opportunity arises.

President Muizzu stated that the opposition has no response to his administration's policies or the results being achieved through its efforts. He further emphasized that the government's objective is to act in the best interest of the nation and pledged to undertake genuine efforts to eliminate corruption.

However, to date, the current administration has not investigated any of the corruption allegations leveled against its officials.
