Protest held in Male' calling for the release of journalists
Protesters from the MDP, PNF, and concerned families took to the main streets of Malé to voice their grievances, leading to a confrontation as police used force to disperse the crowd. During the unrest, one individual was arrested and another required hospital treatment for injuries sustained, while police also confiscated several items used by the demonstrators.

Protests have been held in Male' calling for the release of *Adhadhu* journalists Mohamed Shahuzan and Leevan Ali Nasir, who are currently in state custody.
The protest began Wednesday night at the intersection of Chaandhanee Magu and Majeedhee Magu, led by members of the MDP. Senior party officials were in attendance, alongside the families of the imprisoned activists, Shahuzaan and Leevan.
After marching east along Majeedhee Magu, the protesters paused at the Artificial Beach area, where they were joined by supporters of the PNF. The crowd then resumed their march along Majeedhee Magu before turning onto Alikilegefaanu Magu. However, police intercepted the marchers and blocked their progress midway through Alikilegefaanu Magu.
Police arrested one protester at the scene before the crowd marched toward Chaandhanee Magu. The demonstrators then staged a protest at the junction of Majeedhee Magu and Chaandhanee Magu. However, as police moved to disperse the crowd from the area, one individual sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital.
During Wednesday night's protest, police also seized a sofa that was being used by the demonstrators.
