If Muizzu held authority to replace Vice President at will, he would have appointed 10 or 12 different people to the position by now: Nishan
Legal counsel Nishan has asserted that heads of state-owned enterprises and government institutions lack any real authority, accusing the President of evading responsibility rather than taking accountability for national issues. Furthermore, he highlighted a complete lack of coordination between government agencies, stating that the current administration has already failed. Nishan warned that this systemic breakdown will lead to multifaceted challenges for the country in the future.

Legal counsel Mohamed Nishan Ibrahim has stated that if President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu possessed the authority to replace the Vice President at will, he would have already appointed 10 or 12 different individuals to the position.
The Vice President of the current administration is Honorable Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
Speaking on RaajjeTV, Nishan noted that under President Muizzu’s administration, several ministries, institutions, and state-owned enterprises have already seen three or four different individuals appointed to their top leadership positions. He further remarked that the only position left unchanged is that of the Vice President. He suggested that if the President held the constitutional authority to do so, he would likely have appointed 10 or 12 different Vice Presidents by now.
Nishaan stated that the heads of ministries and state-owned enterprises hold no real authority and are merely figureheads. He further noted that, in many instances, even the President's Office lacks comprehensive information regarding the ongoing operations of these companies.
Furthermore, Nishan stated that President Muizzu remains unaware of the various issues plaguing the nation and that other government officials must bear responsibility for them. Nishan added that the President would continue to distance himself from all such matters.
However, Nishan noted that President Muizzu consistently takes credit for every positive outcome, a pattern he claimed is increasingly evident across various state-owned enterprises and ministries.
Given the current circumstances, we must reflect deeply on our future trajectory. As things stand, there is total uncertainty. For instance, you mentioned the Airports Company. It is not just them; you would receive the same answer regardless of which institution you question. This is because there is a complete lack of clarity regarding their operations. Orders are being issued to the Airports Company from both the President’s Office and the Ministry. Yet, the President’s Office remains unaware of the Ministry’s actions, and the Ministry is oblivious to the activities at the airport. The Airports Company is subjected to various conflicting directives, leaving the Managing Director as a mere figurehead who is often kept in the dark. Individuals appointed from within the President’s Office take actions without any transparency. One moment, the President appears on television claiming to have no knowledge of these developments. The next day, another official asserts they are acting directly on the President’s orders. Even when it concerns individuals appointed by the President under Article 115 of the Constitution, the President maintains that these actions are occurring without his knowledge. It appears that, regardless of the issue at hand, the President remains uninformed about anything happening within his administration.Attorney Mohamed Nishan Ibrahim
Nishan stated that the current administration has failed, asserting that as President Muizzu falters, everyone working alongside him will inevitably face the same fate. He further warned that the country is set to encounter widespread hardships and challenges in the coming days under this government.
