Voting proceeds for second round of local council and WDC elections
Voting for the second round of by-elections to fill vacant seats on local councils and Women's Development Committees commenced today with a total of 14 ballot boxes. The Elections Commission has urged the 6,093 eligible voters to cast their ballots as early as possible before polls close at 4:00 PM. This round of voting is being held for seats in B. Dhonfanu and Fuvahmulah City, as well as HA. Kelaa, HDh. Neykurendhoo, and L. Maavah.

Voting has commenced for the second round of the Local Council Elections and the Women's Development Committee Elections.
The Elections Commission (EC) has announced that polling for the second round of both elections commenced at 8:00 AM this Saturday and will continue until 4:00 PM.
The second round of the elections will be held for two council seats and three seats on the Women's Development Committee.
The elections are being held to fill the seat reserved for women on the B. Dhonfanu Island Council and to elect a council member for the Dadimagu constituency of Fuvahmulah City.
Furthermore, second-round voting for Women's Development Committees will be held for the position of President of the Ha. Kelaa Committee, as well as for committee member seats in HDh. Neykurendhoo and L. Maavah.
The Elections Commission (EC) stated that voting for these constituencies is currently underway in the respective islands and cities, as well as in Male' City. A total of 14 ballot boxes have been stationed for the second round of this election. This includes two boxes each for Kelaa, Maavah, and the Dadimagu ward of Fuvahmulah City, while one ballot box each has been placed in Neykurendhoo and Dhonfanu.
A total of 6,093 individuals have registered to vote in these elections, consisting of 2,901 eligible women and 3,192 eligible men. The Elections Commission has urged all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote.
