A residential home in Huraa destroyed beyond use following a major fire incident
While no physical injuries were reported in the fire incident at Huraa, one woman is receiving medical treatment in Male' for psychological trauma. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the local council have provided emergency assistance to the 15 residents displaced from the damaged house, while the police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

A residential house in K. Huraa has been destroyed beyond use following a fire incident.
Police received the report of this incident at approximately 01:18 AM on April 13, 2026.
Police stated that while the fire was completely extinguished through the collaborative efforts of local residents, the house was damaged beyond use.
Police stated that while no physical injuries were reported in the fire, a Maldivian woman who suffered psychological distress due to the incident was treated at the Huraa Health Center before being transferred to Male' for further medical attention.
Furthermore, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that a total of 15 people were residing in the house that was completely destroyed by the fire. The authority added that, in coordination with the local council, necessary assistance has been provided to those affected.
While the cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed, police stated that the matter is under further investigation.
