Institutions and members of judiciary no longer need to fear Muizzu, as this is a weak and transitional administration: Yauqoob
Former MP Yauqoob Abdulla has characterized the current administration as weak, asserting that independent institutions and the judiciary should no longer fear government influence. Noting that the recent election results demonstrate a public rejection of the government, he emphasized that state institutions must now align their actions with the will of the people. Yauqoob further claimed that the government’s authority has diminished and expressed confidence that MDP will secure victory in the upcoming presidential election.

Former Dhaandhoo MP Yauqoob Abdulla has stated that officials within independent institutions and the judiciary have no reason to fear President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, characterizing the current administration as a weak and temporary government.
Yauqoob made these remarks while speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program.
Yauqoob stated that although President Muizzu has appointed individuals to independent institutions through his power and influence, these bodies should no longer fear the government. He further noted that while the administration has shaped the entire system to serve its own interests, it has now become clear that the public will speak out decisively when their interests are at stake.
Independent institutions no longer need to fear or feel intimidated by this administration or President Muizzu, even if individuals are appointed to these bodies through his power and influence. The reality that must be understood now is that no matter how much they attempt to mold and manipulate the entire system to their liking, the people will speak clearly when confronted. We witnessed this today. Despite all independent institutions being under Muizzu’s absolute control and authority, the public has delivered a resounding "no" on a scale never before seen in an election—a defeat so significant it is frankly embarrassing. There is no reason for those within state institutions, government-aligned members of Parliament, or especially the judiciary, to remain intimidated by the government. This administration is now weak; it is a temporary administration. These entities must now align themselves with the will of the people, follow the public pulse, and move forward in solidarity with the citizens.Former Member of Parliament for the Dhaandhoo constituency, Yauqoob Abdulla.
Referring to the results of the recent election, Yauqoob stated that despite President Muizzu having full control over all independent institutions, the public had come out and resoundingly rejected the government. He described this as an unprecedented and humiliating defeat, asserting that there is no longer any reason for state institutions, pro-government parliamentarians, or the judiciary to remain intimidated by the administration.
Yauqoob further stated that the current administration is now a weak, caretaker government, and that state institutions must henceforth work alongside the people, in alignment with the public will. He also noted that the government's reliance on intimidation through job security threats and deception as its primary tools must now come to an end.
Yauqoob stated that President Muizzu’s visits to various islands to lay foundation stones and initiate projects were calculated attempts to deceive the public in hopes of securing votes. However, he noted that the people have now taught the government a clear lesson. He further asserted that the current administration has lost its grip on power, expressing full confidence that the MDP will secure a landslide victory in the upcoming presidential election.
