The Member of Parliament for North Galolhu constituency, Mohamed Ibrahim (Kudoo) of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has submitted a case to the People’s Majlis alleging corruption in the development of the Male’ Taxi Line application.
In a formal letter addressed to the Speaker of the Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Kudoo raised concerns regarding the development of the "Male' Taxi Line" application. The submission highlighted growing public apprehension over potential acts of corruption during the project's execution. Consequently, he has requested a formal parliamentary committee inquiry into the matter.
Regarding this matter, the inquiries submitted seek to identify the companies invited to participate in the tender for the app's development, as well as the specific criteria used to select them.
Furthermore, clarification has been sought regarding the criteria used to select the bidders and the specific role of MTCC’s IT Department in this project. The Parliament has also requested details on the experience of the contractor to whom the project was awarded, along with copies of any documentation submitted to substantiate their professional track record.
The Investment Committee has requested clarification, by majority vote, on whether the move would be profitable for the company. Additionally, the committee sought to determine the extent to which the procedures outlined in board-approved policies were followed, along with other pertinent information.
Kudoo requested clarification regarding MTCC's claims that inquiries for procurement are sent exclusively to registered suppliers. He sought specific details to distinguish between the suppliers invited to bid and the dates they were officially added to the company’s supplier registry.
