Male' City Mayor and MDP mayoral candidate Adam Azim has stated that his door-to-door campaign activities have demonstrated the residents' confidence that Villimale will receive the necessary attention and care under an MDP-led mayoralty.
Azim made these remarks while speaking during an MDP door-to-door campaign event held in Vilimale' on Saturday night.
Male' City Mayor Adam Azim stated that upon assuming office, the most prevalent grievance from Villimale' residents was the perceived neglect of their ward, adding that he has since undertaken extensive efforts to address these concerns. Azim noted that Villimale' was previously a place cordoned off by corrugated iron sheets. He emphasized that it was through his administration's initiatives that the area was opened up and transformed into a clean, accessible environment.
"We have worked to ensure that Male' and Villimale' are treated equally, without any discrimination in our service delivery. We are also working on the skate park requested by the youth; that project has now been officially contracted to STO," Azim stated.
Azim further noted that the public has shown great appreciation for the efforts made over the past two years to bring necessary development to Vilimale. He emphasized that having an MDP-led council would ensure these projects are carried out even more effectively. In addition to Azim, Ahmed Shamin Rafiu, who is contesting for the constituency's council seat, Aishath Reesha, President of the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and Hawwa Ibrahim, a candidate for the WDC, have all appealed to the public to vote for the MDP.
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, along with MDP’s Acting Chairperson Abdul Ghafoor Moosa, former members of Parliament representing the party, and several senior MDP officials, participated in the "door-to-door" campaign activity.
