Protests will proceed along Majeedhee Magu; there is no alternative route: Ameen Faisal

The party stated that the demonstration is intended to be a peaceful assembly and expressed confidence that the authorities will grant the necessary permission for the event.

Former Defense Minister Ameen Faisal has announced that the MDP’s "Dathivejje" (Hardship) protest, scheduled for the 13th of this month, will take place exclusively on Majeedhee Magu and will not proceed through any other streets.
Following a meeting between the MDP and the police regarding the party's upcoming protest, Ameen Faisal, the Defense Minister during the first MDP administration, briefed the press. He stated that discussions were held with the police concerning the route and conduct of the demonstration, and that the party has proposed to hold the protest on Majeedhee Magu.
Amin stated that the police informed them a decision would be made following consultations with their superiors, adding that he expects the permit to be granted this time.
Our stance remains that there is no alternative route; we will proceed along Majeedhee Magu. We believe we are entitled to conduct this protest under the rights granted to us by the law, and our activities will be limited to the peaceful expression of our sentiments.Ameen Faisal
Furthermore, Ameen stated that this is not a mere march, but a protest intended to raise their voices across the streets of Malé.
The main opposition party, MDP, is set to hold a protest titled 'Dhathivejje' on the night of November 13th at 8:30 PM, to voice concerns over the rising cost of living and the increasing economic challenges facing the public.
