Male' City Mayor Adam Azim has stated that the President is currently observed making impulsive remarks and turning whatever comes to mind at the moment into formal pledges.
Speaking to the media following the conclusion of the MDP's door-to-door campaign activities on Tuesday, Azim stated that the party's special manifesto for Male' City was developed with the direct involvement of MDP's parliamentary candidates for the city, former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and senior members of the party's leadership. Azim further noted that the entire manifesto was formulated through extensive consultations and incorporates the collective input of all stakeholders.
Azim stated that the MDP has always been a policy-driven party, which is what distinguishes it from other political organizations. He noted that the MDP consistently documents its plans and presents them to the public before taking action.
The fundamental difference between the MDP and other parties is that the MDP never acts without first documenting its plans. We have consistently maintained that our approach is rooted in clear policies; we do not simply show up and engage in empty rhetoric.Male' City Mayor Adam Azim
Azim further stated that the President is currently observed to be making spontaneous remarks and turning whatever comes to mind into formal pledges.
However, Azim stated that it is standard practice to assess the feasibility of a task before making a pledge. He further noted that promising the public things that cannot be achieved does not constitute a pledge, but is rather a blatant lie.
Azim stated that the MDP candidates have presented a manifesto dedicated to serving the public, and reaffirmed that the party will fulfill its pledges.
