Five months since Saeed's unjust and unlawful sentencing: primary concern remains delay in accessing adequate medical treatment
The family of former Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Ahmed Saeed Mohamed has expressed grave concern over his deteriorating health, warning that delays in providing adequate medical treatment could be life-threatening. Despite appealing his prison sentence at the High Court, the family noted that the prolonged legal process and restricted access to religious practices have added to their distress. The family of Ahmed Saeed Mohamed, the former Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, has expressed grave concern over the lack of adequate medical care provided to him while he serves what they describe as an unjust prison sentence.
During his time in prison, Saeed’s medical condition required him to seek regular treatment at IGMH. His health recently deteriorated further, leading to his hospitalization; however, his family has expressed grave concern over the continued delays in accessing the critical medical care he requires.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, a representative of the family emphasized that every day treatment is delayed, Saeed’s health deteriorates further, raising serious concerns that his life may be at risk.

Furthermore, one of the family's primary concerns is the denial of access to the medical team that previously managed Saeed’s care and treatment. The family maintains that his condition is best understood by his former physicians and requires a facility equipped with modern medical resources; therefore, the inability to seek treatment under their direct guidance remains a significant obstacle to his recovery process.
The family has appealed for Saeed not to be deprived of his right to medical care, emphasizing that access to healthcare is a fundamental right that must be guaranteed to every human being.
Emphasizing that the provision of timely medical care is fundamentally linked to human dignity, the family is calling for a resolution to the current difficulties and seeking a path for Saeed to access an adequate healthcare system.
Saeed has expressed his deep distress and concern to his family over being deprived of the opportunity to fully perform his sacred Islamic religious obligations.

Saeed was sentenced to four years of unjust and unlawful imprisonment on September 28, 2025. This verdict has drawn sharp criticism from legal professionals and the public alike, with many contending that the ruling is politically motivated and a blatant miscarriage of justice. Observers are increasingly describing the sentence as an act of persecution against him.
Although Saeed has appealed the verdict in the High Court, his family has expressed deep concern over the prolonged nature of the appeals process. The family has appealed to the relevant authorities to expedite the proceedings.
